The invitation-only International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA) has awarded four International Davey Awards to marketing and branding consultancy Kolbrener, Inc. In the Annual Report category, Kolbrener received the top-level award for the 2006 Arch Coal annual report, titled “Unearthing Value”. Kolbrener received additional awards in the following categories:
Newspaper Ad, “No Child Left Behind” for Pressley Ridge
Identity Manual, Graphic Standards Guide for Gateway Engineers
Specialty Item, “Evolve” billboards for Kolbrener, Inc.

According to the IAVA fact sheet, the Davey Awards ”honor the achievement of the ‘Creative Davids’ where strength comes from ideas, intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking, not a ‘Giant’s’ bankroll.” The awards are underwritten by The Creative Group, the world’s leading creative professional staffing company, and AdweekMedia. This year, over 4,000 entries were received.
